Comparison to Monark 894E
The Aerobic Cycle Ergometer AC-8 (formerly Monark 828E or similar) is not designed or suitable for proper Wingate testing.
-
Unlike the Monark 894E, which is optimized for anaerobic Wingate testing (weight-brake system, instant resistance), the AC‑8 is geared for aerobic/submax testing, with manual knob resistance and a pendulum scale.
-
The AC‑8’s calibration system ensures precision over time, similar to Monark’s mechanical reliability—but for entirely different testing needs.
